Plant a Living
Memorial
Plant a tree in memory or honor of a loved
one and help his or her memory live on. Your gift will be acknowledged
to the family of the deceased or to the honoree directly per your
instructions within 48 hours of receipt of your donation. And depending
upon the options below that you choose, additional services are
available.
Planted by the
People…..For the People
Your donation will support the planting of
native trees on school campuses and in other public green spaces by Mary
Esther Green staff, interns and volunteers. And, per your instructions,
your honoree or the family of your deceased loved one will receive an
acknowledgement of your generous donation in their memory/honor. (Up to
$150)
Your Tree of
Choice
(3/4 inch caliber)
A native tree – Dogwood, Southern Magnolia
or Palmetto – to be selected by you or your honoree will be planted in
one of Mary Esther’s public green spaces. You will be notified where
the tree was planted & exactly how to find it, in the event you or
family members would like to watch it grow through the years. A
beautifully framed certificate memorializing the planting of the tree in
memory of the deceased (or in honor of your honoree) will be mailed to
family members per your instructions, along with the acknowledgement of
your gift. ($150)
That Special
Place
Your donation will support the planting of
your tree of choice (above) in a specific location to be selected by you
or by the honoree/family of deceased, contingent upon approval by the
landowner or public agency representative. MEG staff will make
contacts on your behalf with the property owner, school principal, park
manager, or city official & will coordinate tree planting efforts with
that office. An acknowledgement of your gift will be mailed to family
members per your instructions. ($200)
Ceremonial
Planting
Following the planting of your tree of
choice in your designated location, a member of the Mary Esther's Staff
will lead family members and loved ones in a memorial ceremony. The
ceremony can include comment on the meaning of a living memorial, a
description of the specific tree – how large it will grow, how fast,
what it will look like in 10 years – and a reading of
The Prayer of the
Woods. A
beautifully framed, certificate which includes this written prayer is
provided to a designated family member. If the donor prefers the actual
tree planting to be part of the ceremony, this can be arranged with MEG
staff with 2-3 weeks advance notice. ($300) |
