The MEG Native Tree Planting Guide was created to answer some of the commonly asked questions about planting and maintaining trees in the Greater Baton Rouge Area.  Identification of the districts is important in order to identify the characteristics and native trees supported in the district.  An exercise to help determine the type of tree you should plant would be to locate the district in which you reside and read about the characteristics of your district, its soils, and its native trees
